Europa Dallas 2011 – Recap, Photos, Video, and More; Our Choices for Top Matches of the Day!
DALLAS, TX, August 14, 2011 – It was a long, action-packed day yesterday at the Dallas Convention Center as over 850+ grapplers made the pilgrimage to the Europa 2011 tournament put on by Seth Daniels (F2W), Brett Boyce (WGC), and crew. As part of the 2011 EUROPA Super Show & Supplement Expo, this grappling tournament drew talent from all around the state, making it one of the biggest competitions seen in Texas this year.
As far as big winners go, Arsenal BJJ’s Carlos Diego Ferreira came up aces once again in winning the black belt and advanced absolute divisions – netting him about $1,500 of prize money. In the brown belt absolutes Nova Uniao representative Kaue Vitorino Damasceno won impressively, taking out J.J. Holmes (Alliance) in the final match of the division. His teammate Marcio Andre also scored well in winning his purple belt division while Isaque Basiense did the same in his teen bracket. There were many other performances worthy of mention but it’d be impossible to get all the names so we’ll just wait for the official results from the event organizers.
