LEGACY 12 – Weigh-In Results and Photo Gallery
7.13.12 UPDATE - Chad Robichaux vs. Will Campuzano is now OFF due to dehydration suffered from a bad weight cut. Here is his statement: “Guys. Just was released from the hospital. I was it cleared by the fight dr today to compete without further examination. Then the Doctor at the hospital gave an absolute no way to compete as well and put me on some strong antibiotics and pain meds. I took a cat scan and blood / urine labs. I had a small kidney stone, and a serious kidney infection with some inflammation in my kidneys. I’m very sorry to everyone and thank you for your support. I feel I did my diet and weight cut process perfect. Not sure where this came from other than maybe Gods plan. Will Campuzano, impressed me by handling the situation like a class act professional, so did the Legacy and AXS TV staffs. I’ll be cheering on the event. I’m truly regretful and sorry guys. Will and I trained hard and it is sad to see the match not happen. - Chad.”
WEBSTER, TX, July 12, 2012 - Legacy Fighting Championship’s 12th event is now official with weigh-ins for tomorrow night’s LEGACY 12 event concluding this afternoon at the Texas-Yamaha location in Webster, TX.
After all was said and done, the only significant change resulting from today’s event weigh-ins involves the main event – a planned Legacy flyweight title bout involving UFC veteran Will Campuzano (10-4) and Strikeforce/Bellator vet Chad Robichaux (12-2).
The former Legacy champion at 135 lbs, Chad “Robo” would show up to the scheduled weigh-ins over an hour late and weigh in for his main event bout after all the other fighters had already done so for their own bouts. Looking exhausted and drawn-out, he would end up weighing in at 127 lbs., two pounds over the championship limit. Unable to cut any more to comply with commission rules regarding title bouts, Robichaux and Campuzano will now be forced to contest their bout without a title on the line.
All the other bouts are now official with no other significant changes.
