Twin Wolves’ Le’Ville Simpson looking to go pro once he gets past Luis Lara this Saturday at LAS 9

KILLEEN, TX, August 22, 2012 – Like life, amateur fighting is all about learning lessons. And like life, the more meaningful experiences you have, the more you will learn. That’s just the natural order of things.

For 21 year old Le’Ville Simpson out of Killeen’s Twin Wolves fight team, gaining experience has been his whole so far. Rather than rush into the pro ranks or bask in the spotlight, he’s just tried to fight and train as much as possible with the hopes of learning as much as he can along the way.

“I’ve enjoyed this adventure so far in my career as a fighter,” he says.”There have been ups, downs, and controversy, but I’ve learned from everything and I’m excited about the future. MMA is my outlet. I’m a very relaxed person who is also goofy at times. I feel life is too short to walk around serious all the time but as a fighter I take what I do very seriously and stay focused. Fighting gives me that.”

Le’Ville had to really dig deep for his last fight, a five round war with Adrian Barrera for the Texas lightweight title for ABG Promotions at Cage Wars.

“He made me dig deep in that fight and it worked in my favor. It was a war but it showed me I’ve improved in my striking, my grappling, and really overall as a person. I feel more centered and disciplined now.”

Winning that last bout by decision, Simpson’s record now stands at 5-4 overall. One more and he believes he may be ready to go pro.

As his last amateur challenge, he’ll face Metro Fight Club’s Luis Lara this Saturday at Legacy Amateur Series 9, scheduled for Houston’s Arena Theater.

“Luis Lara has fought some good guys so I think it’s going to be a good matchup. I’m at the gym training 2-3 times a day whenever I can fit it in my schedule and I’m there because I want to keep getting better. I think we’ll on a show and I see my hand getting raised in this one. I would like to thank my family, God, my teammates, coaches, TWMMA, and everyone who has supported me. After this fight I’m transferring over to the professional circuit so it’s time to go to work.”
