VOTE NOW – 2012 Texas Open Superfight Tournament Participants

HOUSTON, TX, November 19, 2012 – Fight to Win and World Grappling Circuit will be returning to Houston on November 17th for their last tournament of the year, entitled The 2012 Texas Open.

Aside from all the standard action at Legends Sports Complex, this event will also feature a special added attraction for grapplers and fans in attendance in the form of a Superfight Tournament Extravaganza featuring some of the very best grapplers from Texas and around the nation.

The prize will be a $1,000 prize to the winners of each of the two divisions, reserved for top grapplers under 200 lbs. and also under155 lbs.

The tournament will be held under normal F2W/WGC advanced No-GI division rules (8-minute matches) with weigh-ins to be held prior to stepping onto the mat and matchups to be drawn on the spot with 10-minute warning prior to start.

Even more interesting is that our TXMMA BJJ and Grappling community will have a major say in deciding the participants that will partake in this special tournament with your votes deciding who will participate in this event

We’ve outlined a list below of the 14 eligible grapplers interested to compete for the 8 open spots as compiled by organizer Jordan Burton.

Similar to our annual TXMMA Awards, we’ve assembled voting via polls on our TXMMA Facebook Page to give everyone the easiest possible way to cast their votes and also to ensure that this process is done in the most transparent way possible so we may have a true representation of what the public wants.

Voting will on Friday, October 26, 2012.

Check out the list below and cast your vote today!

I believe Rodrigo Pinheiro and his brother Daniel deserve a place in these brackets. Rodrigo could be considered above a couple of the names on there already, IMO. Looks to be a great tournament regardless!

I agree. I didn’t compile the list but for what it’s worth, while Jordan Burton, Boyce, and Daniels were working on it, nobody else spoke up. Now they’re getting people out of the woodwork. Worthy as they are, too late imo.

Clay Copeland from TPC Beaumont. You won’t be disappointed

  • Matt

Why is it that Marcello, Robert, and Keenan are at the bottom of the finalists when they’re the top three on the voting on your Facebook page?

Not sure what you’re referring to. This list up here is in the order it was given to us by promoters with no rank assigned to where they are on the list. We put the FB polls up after the fact. I think three guys are in though.

My bad, was half asleep working graveyard when I posted this. Didn’t thoroughly read through everything, lol. When will brackets be up?

Andre Tim Monteiro needs to win this.. look hi up great maestro!!!!!!!!!

  • Tmorenoking

Very sad that Carlos Diego Ferreira was not mentioned

I believe he was scheduled for an MMA fight at the time (Legacy) and was not available at the time to be considered. Is that inaccurate?
