Audrey Alvarez takes win in bloody main event; Alredo Leija and Bilal Williams remain undefeated in the undercard
ARLINGTON, TX – Xtreme Knockout (XKO) celebrated their fifth anniversary with their 24th event this past Saturday night, January 17th. XKO 24 featured eight fights in total. With only two of those bouts making it to the judges’ scorecards it’s safe to say it proved to be another exciting night for North Texas fight fans.
The ladies took stage in the main event of the evening with Corpus Christi’s Audrey Alvarez competing again DFW native Alice Yauger. The South Texas native Alvarez was undefeated headed into this fight against her 1-2 Burleson-based opponent. Audrey was able to pull it off again at XKO arena by taking a unanimous decision. It was a bloody affair as the two went toe to toe over the course of three rounds. In the end Audrey was able to sweep the rounds on all 3 judges’ cards while bloodying Yaeger’s forehead with a well-placed elbow along the way. She leaves the fight witrh a 3-0 record.
In the co-main event, Alfredo Leija was also able to improve to 3-0 as a pro after finishing Allen Nelson in the third round of their fight. The San Antonio based Nelson started out the stronger of the two as he was able to land a first round knockdown but Leija was able to recover his wits in short order and came back to finish the fight in the third round.
Elsewhere on the card, Bilal Williams likewise moved to 3-0 with a unanimous decision win over a winless Lior Shporen.
Fighting out of Guy Mezger’s Combat Sports Club, Steve Hess was able to even his pro record to 3-3 with a win over JJ Holmes.
Dennis Thomas defeated Jaime Anaya by first round TKO while Andrew Sosa put away Randell Kennedy in the third round of their bout.
Eddie Wittern moved to 2-1 after a first round armbar over Andre Kavanaugh while Steven Ngo scored his first pro win over Jonathan Ramez via first round TKO.
